Course Overview 


Week One: We begin by discussing the term of Economics analyzed by Hesiod, Democritus, Plato, Xenophon and Aristotle. We will explore their theories and thoughts and how these are applied within the polis. We will also describe the term of Health as defined from Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine and identify his contribution to Medicine. Moreover, we will study the definitions of modern Economics in a brief summary and highlight the introducer of Health Economics Kenneth Arrow. We will introduce you to Health Economics and its disciplines. We will also describe Health as defined by WHO and how economic principles are implemented on this sector.

Week Two: We will investigate the terms of healthcare costs and will analyze the methods of Economic Evaluation in healthcare with its key components. Furthermore, we will describe how we measure Health and we will explore the concepts of Health Related Quality of Life, the Quality Adjusted Life Years and the Incremental Cost-Effectiveness Ratio, the instruments and methods for health utilities.


Quiz Tests 


The Online Course is consisted of 4 Modules and of 4 Short Quiz Tests for every module. After studying the 4 modules of the Course, then you will take a Final Quiz Test of 20 questions. Quizzes do not count towards your course score but they are just to help you learn. You can take as many attempts as you wish to answer each question. The Certificate of Completion will be generated after answering correctly 12 to 20 questions of the Final Quiz Test.
